Firetrace manufactures reliable, cost-effective, automatic fire detection and suppression systems. Systems can be designed to protect virtually any ‘micro-environment’, a small enclosed space where critical assets are located, or to protect large rooms such as data centres.

Firetrace offers two core product lines: pre-engineered, hazard-specific micro-environment systems and large area, room flooding engineered gaseous systems. The hazard-specific systems focus on localised areas where an elevated fire risk exists; areas such as engine compartments, electrical panels, inside critical machine processes or inside fume or extraction hoods. The engineered systems are ideal for protection of rooms from electrical control centres all the way to the largest data centres.

Firetrace’s pre-engineered systems provide cost-effective, standalone, automatic fire suppression systems for your critical equipment, electrical/technical systems and various types of enclosures. The effectiveness of a genuine Firetrace system is assured by using the proprietary Firetrace detection tubing (a linear pneumatic heat sensor), which detects a fire due to precise temperature sensitivity, allowing systems to react quickly and effectively. This unique detection can be run through the smallest or most complex enclosures to ensure detection is always close at hand.

Firetrace manufactures two basic types of fire suppression systems: direct and indirect.

All Firetrace systems use the proprietary red Firetrace detection tubing as a linear heat and flame detector. These systems may be arranged as either ‘direct release’ or ‘indirect release’, depending on the type of enclosure or fire hazard.

Direct and indirect systems are available in low and high-pressure functionality, which will be determined by the fire suppression agent selected for your application.

Firetrace’s engineered systems include E4, a game-changing advanced engineered clean agent total flooding system that has gained approvals across its entire range, from 35lbs/16kg right up to 1,300lbs/590kg.

E4’s high-performance 500 PSI / 35 bar 3M™ Novec™ 1230 systems have already added a new dimension to the engineered fire suppression industry in typical land-based applications. By using the higher pressure of the E4 system, pipe networks have much greater flexibility, and use smaller pipe sizes – removing the need for any welding. This optimises the performance of the NovecTM 1230 agent, which allows for greater options on cylinder placement and reduces the total cost of installation. Firetrace also offers systems featuring Chemours™ FM-200™


Firetrace systems are specially designed for small enclosures of all kinds. The system type, size and fire suppression agent will be determined by the contents of the enclosure. Firetrace’s low-pressure clean agent options are typically 300cu ft (8.5cu m) or smaller, with options for dry chemical and high-pressure agents up to 1500cu feet (42cu m).

Firetrace’s E4 engineered clean agent systems feature a selection of cylinder sizes, including the biggest cylinder available in the industry, so even the largest of facilities can now be effectively protected.

Firetrace advanced fire protection systems are compatible with most commercially available fire-suppressing clean agents, foams, and dry chemicals. They are the only systems of their type to carry major listings and approvals from UL, ULC, CE, FM, and more than 20 other international agencies.

Firetrace International has also been granted the prestigious LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) approval for both its 3MTM NovecTM 1230 and FM-200 direct low pressure (DLP) systems. It is the only global manufacturer to have achieved this approval, which is the first of its type for a tubing system, and covers 1kg, 2kg and 5kg systems for electrical panels up to 2cu m in volume.
